She volunteers with the Never Let Us Forget Scholarship Fund and she is currently helping to raise funds for the Gold Star Mother Memorial. She is a member of St. Thomas More Church and is a parent volunteer for the West Clermont Schools.
Regina’s volunteerism has converged into a focus of serving children and the military. This passion is best illustrated with the work Regina did fulfilling her son’s dream of creating a military cemetery with over 1,300 hand-made wooden crosses honoring those who have given their lives in the line of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan. She recruited parents and scouts to cut out and make the crosses. She found the resources to purchase supplies. She brought many groups together to prepare and do the actual planting of the crosses at Union Township Veterans Memorial Park on Veteran’s Day in 2004. Regina was relentless in making this vision a reality for her son, Robby. As casualties have mounted, Robby and his mother continue to maintain the crosses and add more, keeping the count up-to-date. The crosses were displayed at 5 different locations during a 6-month period in 2008. “I’m not sure any of us realized how this project was going to touch the entire community,” Regina said. She learned about volunteerism at a very young age from her mother. She learned well.
