Biography of Connie Hunter
2009 Nominee - Orpha Gatch Citizenship Award

Connie Hunter, International and Domestic Contracts Manager, formerly with the Honeywell Corporation in Overland Park, Kansas, is the founder and charter member of the newly created Greater Milford Arts and Events Council. She serves as the Membership and Events Chair of the Greater Milford Historical Society and Promont Museum. She is also a member of the Tree Ridge Subdivision Book Club.

Connie has lived in several areas of the country before moving to the Milford area in October, 2007. While living in Kansas, Connie volunteered to promote and establish a Diversity Council and Diversity Library at Honeywell for the employees. In Pennsylvania, Connie was president of the Greensburg Garden Center. She also learned to fly and received her pilot’s license. She then went on to help coordinate the formation of a commuter airline between Latrobe, Pittsburgh and Erie, PA. Connie was instrumental in establishing courses in flight training at the local community college.

It has been said that new eyes are the best eyes to view a group or project because they can see the needs more clearly and objectively. While being new to the community, Connie saw a need for a networking and support group of the Arts in Milford. Her nominator said about her initiative, “ Connie is a very calm, rational thinker and very organized in the way she looks at a problem.” Connie is spearheading the process for the organization to receive its designation as a 501(c)3. “Connie is the best kind of advertisement for a community volunteer. She has a quiet sense of humor and a directness of purpose that makes working with her a joy.” Connie, welcome to Milford and Clermont County!
