Biography of Ginny Kaldmo
2009 Nominee - Orpha Gatch Citizenship Award

Ginny Kaldmo, Activities Director, Clermont Senior Services, Inc. is serious about her job. She is so serious that she has made the work she does with the seniors into a ministry and is currently writing a book entitled, “How to Put Pizzazz in your Senior Facility.” Ginny has been involved as a volunteer with Pro Seniors. She volunteers as a director for Christian music at Confraternity of Christian Doctrine (CCD) classes for the children of St Bernadette and St. Thomas More Catholic churches. She has spent countless hours over the past 14 years raising funds for the Ruth Lyon Children’s Fund.

Ginny goes beyond the 40 hours a week that she pours herself into her work. She cooks, shops, sews and overall, spends every waking moment trying to find ways to improve the lives of senior adults at the centers in Williamsburg and Miami Township. Her goal in everything she does is to have fun, lift someone’s spirits and make them smile. Whether it is creating a “prom,” finding celebrity guests for their events that raise money for the Children’s Fund or cooking a banquet of food for her two centers three times a month, Ginny gives 110%. One very successful project of Ginny’s was to have her groups design their own greeting cards. The goal is to distribute these cards to others in nursing home facilities and on their “Thinking of You” list. During one year they made and sent 475 cards to all of the clients who receive Meals on Wheels.

Ginny just might hold the nominations record for this award. She was nominated 23 times this year. Her nominators could write a book with all the good things they have to say about Ginny.
