Join us for the LWV Ohio Statehouse Day on Tuesday, March 31, 2015. Workshops and sessions will be held at the Riffe Center in Columbus, and the keynote luncheon will be held in the Statehouse Atrium.

We will have a day full of wonderful speakers including our keynote speaker, Erin O’Brien, Ph.D.  The title of her talk is “Turning Empty into Half Full: Why States Adopt Restrictive Voter Access Policies and the Promising State-level Reforms that Increase Turnout.”

Dr. Erin O’Brien is Chair and Associate Professor of Political Science at University of Massachusetts Boston as well as co-director of the Boston Chapter of the Scholar Strategy Network.  Her research and teaching interests focus on voting access policymaking in the United States, the politics of poverty and social welfare policy, and gender in political participation and representation.  She is also a regular commentator on American politics and public policy for outlets including NPR, Christian Science Monitor, The Boston Globe and the Boston Herald, among others. Call Yvette Duguay for further information.
